Clean tools = better espresso

If your tools are dirty, your espresso is going to suffer. The Barista Banana makes it easy to clean your portafilter and steam wands so you can make better espresso and tastier steamed milk.

Basket Swapping

Use the notch in the middle of the Barista Banana to remove your portafilter basket for cleaning or to swap in a different size basket.

Steam Wand Wrench

The eye of the Banana is a steam wand wrench you can use to remove the steam wand tip for deep cleaning.

Insert Removal

The top of the Barista Banana is used to push out the plastic insert in the portafilter for deep cleaning. Just unscrew the spout from the portafilter and use the banana tip to pop it out. Don't be surprised if there's a lot of buildup in there.

FAQs

Common Questions

Which espresso machines does this work with?

The Barista Banana is made for Breville/Sage espresso machines with 54mm portafilters. This will fit the portafilter on your Bambino, Bambino Plus, Barista Express, Barista Express Impress, Barista Touch and Barista Touch Impress. The steam wand wrench works on the Barista Express.

What does it do?

The Barista Banana makes it easier to clean your espresso tools. With one tool you can remove your portafilter basket, distribution insert and steam wand tip, allowing for easy cleaning and tastier espresso.

Why did you make this?

It was always frustrating to deep clean my Breville Barista Express, but not cleaning it lead to some funky tasting coffee. I tried pulling out the baskets with my fingers, or prying them out with silverware but I ended up breaking fingernails and bending knives. So I took some measurements and started building. After dozens of prototypes I landed on a design that works easily and feels good in the hand.

Which countries do you ship to?

At this time we are only shipping within the US. We hope to expand the number of countries that we ship to in the future!
