Removing your portafilter basket has never been easier. No more chipped fingernails, no more bent silverware, no more struggling with stuck baskets.

Just slide the notch under the basket edge and lever upward - it pops right out. Works every time, just ensure you are pressing in while twisting it back (watch the video above for more detail).

Quick start guide

Basket Removal

Use the notch in the middle to slide under your portafilter basket edge and lever upward to pop it out. Remove and clean your basket every time you make a drink to ensure you have the cleanest tasting espresso.

Steam Wand Cleaning

The "eye" fits your steam wand tip. Turn counter-clockwise to unscrew, then clean the tip and holes. Rinse out the tip whenever you notice your steaming pressure is low, sounds quiet, or takes longer than normal to steam milk.

Tip: Note: The Barista Banana comes in two variants, standard and large, to accommodate different steam wand tips. If you have a Bambino Plus or Barista Pro, get the Large. Otherwise, get the Standard.

Plastic Insert Removal

Unscrew the spout from your portafilter, then use the pointed tip to push out the plastic insert from the back. Do not put the plastic insert back in - it is notorious for trapping old grounds and producing off-tasting drinks. Be sure to clean your portafilter very well after you remove this insert.
